Position Overview:
As the Director of Social Impact at McGee Media, you will play a pivotal role in strategizing, planning,
and executing initiatives that maximize the social impact of our documentaries focused on gender and
race. This role requires a deep understanding of social justice issues, exceptional project management
skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to driving meaningful change. You will
collaborate closely with both our documentary production teams and external stakeholders to ensure
that our documentaries not only inform but also inspire action and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
● Social Impact Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive social impact strategy for
each documentary, outlining measurable goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and targeted
outcomes that align with McGee Media's mission and the specific issues addressed.
● Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with relevant NGOs, advocacy
groups, community organizations, and experts in the fields of gender and race. Collaborate with
these stakeholders to ensure our documentaries have a lasting and positive impact on the
communities they aim to represent.
● Campaign Development: Create and oversee strategic social impact campaigns that amplify
the messages of our documentaries. These campaigns should engage audiences, drive
awareness, and inspire action to promote positive change.
● Partnership Building: Identify and collaborate with potential funding partners, sponsors, and
grant organizations to support social impact initiatives associated with our documentaries.
● Event Planning: Organize screenings, panels, workshops, and other events to foster dialogue
and facilitate meaningful conversations around the social justice issues highlighted in our
documentaries.
● Measurement and Evaluation: Develop frameworks to measure the success and impact of our
social impact initiatives. Regularly assess the outcomes against established KPIs and make
data-driven adjustments to improve effectiveness.
● Team Collaboration: Work closely with documentary production teams to ensure that the social
impact goals are integrated into the production process from pre-production to post-production.
● Content Creation: Develop educational materials, discussion guides, and supplemental content
that enhance the educational value of our documentaries and facilitate deeper engagement with
audiences.
Qualifications:
● Proven experience in social impact, community engagement, or advocacy work, preferably in the
context of film, documentaries, or media.
● Understanding of gender and race-related social justice issues, with a strong commitment to
driving positive change in these areas.
● Excellent project management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities
simultaneously.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
● Experience in event planning and organizing community engagement activities.
● Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people, including filmmakers, community
leaders, and experts.
● Proficiency in data analysis and measurement tools to evaluate the impact of social impact
initiatives.
